Whats a neat way to wrap wedding gift?

I am going to a wedding this weekend and I haven't bought the gift yet. This is very rare for me, I normally have it the day after they post their registry. So my idea is to get stuff from their registry, i.e. kitchen utensils and towels and put it in a small laundry basket and try and do something like that but is that to normal? I am going in on this with my brother in law and his girlfriend, but needless to say I will be one embling the gift. I was also think of putting a card box with recipes in it because the couple has loved my husbands cooking and I think it would personalize it. Willing to take any suggestions, remember Martha Stewart I am not so be gentle.
